in Belgrade and is registered with the Business Registers Agency.

Main Objectives

Literary Mission

Ppromotion, development, and advancement of literature for children and young people in the country and the region.

Scientific and Professional Conferences

The organization of scientific and professional thematic conferences, round tables, panel discussions, and literary meetings aimed at promoting literature and the scholarly study of literature for children and young people.

The Study of Children’s Literature

The study of literature for children and young people, past and present, from both synchronic and diachronic perspectives.

Database

The creation of an information database on authors, books, publishing houses, illustrators, translators, awards, festivals, scientific conferences, and other details related to literature for children and young people.

Book Promotions

The promotion of books and significant publications (fiction, picture books, studies, monographs, anthologies, and collections).

Publishing Activities

Initiating publishing activities (books, journals, individual and joint publications, translations, etc.).

Institutional Collaboration

Establishing institutional collaboration with related domestic and international cultural institutions in the country and worldwide.

A journal in both print and electronic formats, providing information on the latest developments in fiction and the study of literature for children.

Implementation of projects of exceptional importance for domestic and international scholarship and, more broadly, for national culture.

Awarding prizes to deserving authors, both domestically and internationally, for their contributions to and development of children’s literature.

Activities

The Institute for Children’s Literature marks the International Mother Language Day (21 February), World Poetry Day (21 March), International Children’s Book Day (2 April), Children’s Week, as well as other important dates and anniversaries from the world of literature and art for children and young people each year. Various programs, workshops, promotions, and meetings with children in schools and libraries are organized.
