The Institute for Children\u2019s Literature established the \u201cAleksandar Vu\u010do\u201d Literary Award in 2021. The award is presented biennially for the best book for children and young adults written in the spirit of the poetics of Aleksandar Vu\u010do, one of the founders of contemporary Serbian children\u2019s literature. Authorial consent for the establishment of the award was obtained from Vu\u010do\u2019s heirs and family. The award consists of an artistic statuette, a diploma, and a monetary prize.<\/span><\/span><\/span> The competition was publicly announced, and the expert jury\u2014composed of Gordana Maleti\u0107 (chair), Rajko Luka\u010d, and Slavka Petkovi\u0107 Gruji\u010di\u0107\u2014unanimously decided at its meeting held on March 6, 2023, to award the \u201cAleksandar Vu\u010do\u201d Award for 2021\/2022 to the author Jovica Ti\u0161ma for his collection of short stories Once Upon a Time There Was a Fear, published by the Belgrade-based publishing house Laguna.\n\nAccompanied by an appropriate cultural and artistic program and the jury\u2019s statement of reasons, the award was ceremonially presented by Prof. Dr. Julijana Vu\u010do at the Association of Writers of Serbia<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\r\n\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t<\/div>\r\n\n\t\t\t<\/div> \n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div> \n\n\t

A total of 38 books were submitted to the publicly announced competition for the 2023\/2024 period.
